Just before the album's release in 1993, drummer Pete Evans left the band, leaving Chadwick to promote the album alone. As a result, the band's leader, Guy Chadwick, handled most of the guitar work for the album, with additional contributions from Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas on acoustic and slide guitars.
