What Goes Around... (Hollies album)

"What Goes Around..." is the 21st studio album by British pop rock band, The Hollies. Released in 1983, it marked the return of original lead vocalist Allan Clarke after a six-year absence. Also joining Clarke in the lineup were original members, Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott, along with new members, bassist Ray Stiles and keyboardist Alan Coates. In fact, Stiles and Coates were the first non-original members to appear on a Hollies album.

The album, predominantly featuring covers of old rock 'n' roll standards, targeted the US market where the band had been more commercially successful. Its lead single was a cover of The Supremes' "Stop! In the Name of Love", which became a minor hit. The album includes ten tracks in total and was produced by the band along with former member, Graham Nash.

Though not a significant commercial success, "What Goes Around..." was well-received by long-time fans for its nostalgic sound, as it rekindled the band's harmony-rich pop sound of the 1960s. The return of Clarke to the band brought a sense of completeness and self-assuredness to their performances. This is clear in their balanced mix of reinterpretations of 1950s and 60s hits, and newer songs written by the band members themselves.
