Liverpool 8

"Liverpool 8" is the fifteenth studio album by Ringo Starr, a prominent English musician and actor who gained worldwide fame as the drummer for the Beatles. It was released in the United Kingdom on 14 January 2008. The title refers to the postal district of the Toxteth area of Liverpool in which Starr was born.

The album is a joyful journey through Ringo’s life before and after he became one of the world's most famous musicians. "Liverpool 8" was produced by Starr and either mixed or produced by David A. Stewart, the former Eurythmics band member. Ringo Starr co-wrote the songs with Stewart.

The opening title track is an autobiographical number, a nostalgic look at the singer's beginnings in his hometown, harking back to his young days when he worked in a factory dreaming of becoming a drummer. Other tracks show Starr's range from rock and roll to country and folk.
