Transmission

"Transmission" is the sixth studio album by the English electronic music group Death in Vegas. Released in 2016, it marked the band's return after a five year hiatus following their 2011 album, "Trans-Love Energies". The band's main members for this album were Richard Fearless and Sasha Grey. Grey, a former adult film actress, also provided vocals for the album.

The album consists of seven tracks, mainly categorized into the sub-genres of electronica, including acid house, trip hop, and post-punk. Praised for its experimental approach, "Transmission" was praised for its dark, meditative, and immersive soundscapes which incorporated industrial music elements and ambient noise. It's a departure from the band's previous work, featuring heavy use of distortion and a much darker tone.

This album was the band's fourth release on Drone Records, Richard Fearless's own record label. It was recorded in the Metal Box, his studio in East London. The album covers various themes across its tracks, often dealing with meditative and abstract concepts. Notably, "Transmission" includes a bonus track in some versions titled "Transwave".

The album garnered mixed reviews from music critics. Some praised its relentless electronic textures and atmospheric sound design, while others felt it was somewhat monotonous. However, it affirmed Death In Vegas's status as one of the more adventurous and uncompromising acts in electronic music.
