Spiceworld

"Spiceworld" is the second studio album by the English girl group the Spice Girls, released on November 1, 1997, by Virgin Records. The album's music blends dance-pop with catchy production, contributing to its widespread commercial success during the peak of "Spicemania."

Upon its release, "Spiceworld" debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, selling 190,000 copies in its first week and 1.4 million copies within two weeks. It also topped the charts in 13 countries and reached the top three in Australia, Canada, France, Switzerland, and the United States. Globally, "Spiceworld" has sold over 14 million copies, solidifying its place as one of the best-selling albums by a girl group.

The album produced four successful singles: "Spice Up Your Life," "Too Much," "Stop," and "Viva Forever." "Spice Up Your Life" achieved international success, reaching the top five in multiple countries. The other singles also performed well on charts worldwide, contributing to the album's enduring popularity.

To support the album, the Spice Girls embarked on their debut headlining concert tour, the Spiceworld Tour, which spanned Europe and North America from February to September 1998. The tour was highly successful, showcasing their energetic performances and cementing their status as global pop icons.

"Spiceworld" is notable as the last studio album to feature Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) before her departure from the group during the tour in 1998. She later rejoined the Spice Girls for a reunion in 2007.

In 2022, an expanded edition of "Spiceworld," titled "Spiceworld25," was released to commemorate its 25th anniversary, reflecting the lasting impact and continued popularity of the album and the Spice Girls' legacy in pop music.
