"Say What You Will, Clarence... Karl Sold the Truck" is the debut studio album by the renowned American alternative rock band, Soul Asylum. Released under the Twin/Tone Records label, the album hit the market on August 24, 1984. The band during this album's release consisted of members Dave Pirner (Vocals/guitar), Dan Murphy (Guitar/vocals), Karl Mueller (Bass guitar), and Pat Morley (Drums).

This album featured a fusion of punk rock and classic rock influences that was very much the stylistic direction of the band during its early years. The album title humorously references 'Clarence', the band's van, and 'Karl', the bass player who sold the truck. The album contains 18 tracks, all of which distinctly portray the talent and potential that Soul Asylum held even at the inception of its career.

Reissued and expanded in 1988, the album was retitled as 'Say What You Will... Everything Can Happen'. It included five bonus tracks i.e., "Dragging Me Down", "Freeway", "Broken Glass", "Masquerade", and "Black and Blue". These tracks were initially recorded for the album but omitted from the original release.

Even though the album didn't make a colossal commercial impact, it garnered positive reviews and is considered essential in understanding the band's evolution across the years. Notably, it's also an example of the band's early years and more punk-oriented sound.
