There Are But Four Small Faces

"There Are But Four Small Faces" is a studio album by British rock band Small Faces. Released in 1968, it was the first and only album by the band to be issued in America, where it was released by Immediate Records. Despite the title, it is not to be confused with the band's British releases, named "Small Faces"; it contained different tracks and reached only number 178 in the US Billboard album charts.

The album features the hit single "Itchycoo Park," which became the band's sole top ten hit in the United States. The Small Faces' music is characterized by their distinctive blend of rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and soul, often combined with a playful sense of humor. Notable songs on the album also include "Tin Soldier," "My Way of Giving" and "Here Comes the Nice."

The members of the band on this album consisted of Steve Marriott who performs as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Ronnie Lane as the bass guitarist, Ian McLagan performing keyboards, and Kenney Jones as the drummer. Marriott and Lane also wrote most of the songs. Their sound was a unique fusion of Mod, Rock, and Psychedelic music that helped pave the way for the British rock sound of the late 60s and beyond.

Although the album wasn't particularly popular in the United States, it was critically acclaimed and has held a lasting influence on rock music.
