Völkerball

Völkerball is a live album and DVD by the German Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein, released on 17 November 2006. This album involves coverage from the band's tour through 2004 and 2005, in the course of which they visited various countries around the world. The title "Völkerball" translated to English means "Dodgeball," or literally "Peoples' Ball," but in this context, it's a play on words that conveys the idea of Rammstein having traveled around the globe and played to people of many different nations music as aggressive as a dodgeball game.

The album is a compilation of performances from different locations including France, England, Japan, and Russia. The main concert footage is from a show in Nimes, France, in the Arena of Nîmes, an ancient Roman amphitheatre, during the Reise, Reise tour. The performance showcases the band's dramatic stage production and powerful performances, hallmarks that Rammstein fans have come to expect.

The material for Völkerball was edited by Paul Landers, one of the guitarists of the band, together with the Swedish director and producer Johan Renck. The album achieved great commercial success and won the Echo Music Prize in the category Music DVD Production (national or international) in 2007.
