Kid A Mnesia

"Kid A Mnesia" is a reissue from Radiohead, compiling their influential albums Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001), along with a bonus disc titled Kid Amnesiae that features previously unreleased material. Released on November 5, 2021, via XL Recordings, the collection was promoted through a campaign on TikTok, leading up to the release of singles and music videos for two of the new tracks, "If You Say the Word" and "Follow Me Around."

The Kid A Mnesia set includes the original albums without remastering, along with Kid Amnesiae, which contains unreleased tracks and alternative versions of songs from the recording sessions of Kid A and Amnesiac. Notable tracks include "Like Spinning Plates ('Why Us?' Version)," a reimagined piano version of the original electronic track; "If You Say the Word," characterized by delicate guitar work and atmospheric percussion; "Follow Me Around," a solo acoustic piece with references to political themes; and "Pulk/Pull (True Love Waits Version)," a harsher, industrial take on "True Love Waits." The deluxe edition also features an art book and a cassette edition titled Kid Amnesiette, which includes additional B-sides.

Radiohead made a strategic entry into TikTok in April 2021, sharing quirky videos featuring their character Chieftain Mews. The album was announced in September 2021, with a digital single debuting shortly after. Music videos for the singles followed, showcasing unique narratives that complemented the album's themes. The release of Kid A Mnesia was met with acclaim, entering the top 10 in various national charts and reaching number one on the UK Independent Albums Chart and the US Billboard Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. Alongside the album release, an interactive digital experience titled Kid A Mnesia Exhibition was launched, allowing fans to explore the music and artwork in a virtual setting. Developed in collaboration with Namethemachine, Arbitrarily Good Productions, and Epic Games, the exhibition received positive reviews for its innovative blend of music, art, and technology.
