Mothership

"Mothership" is a compilation album by English rock band Led Zeppelin, released by Atlantic Records and Rhino Entertainment on November 12, 2007, in the United Kingdom, and November 13, 2007, in the United States. This release coincided with the availability of Led Zeppelin's entire catalogue in digital stores, including iTunes. The album's cover art was designed by artist Shepard Fairey.

The tracks featured on Mothership were selected by the surviving members of Led Zeppelin—Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones—and include selections from the band's eight studio albums. The compilation was issued as a two-disc set, and also offered in "deluxe" and "collector's" editions that came with a DVD containing live content from the previously released Led Zeppelin DVD (2003). Additionally, a 4-LP vinyl version was released on August 26, 2008. In 2015, the album was reissued using the audio from the band's 2014–2015 remaster campaign.

To promote the album, a temporary XM Satellite Radio station called "XM LED" was created on November 8, 2007.

In terms of commercial performance, Mothership debuted at number 4 on the UK Albums Chart, selling 58,000 units in its first week. It also debuted at number 1 on the Official New Zealand Albums Chart, where it remained for several weeks. In the United States, it debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 136,000 copies in its opening week. The album has since sold over 2.1 million copies in the U.S. and more than 4.5 million copies worldwide, earning it a 2× Platinum certification from the RIAA.
