Mixes

"Mixes" is the fifth remix album by Australian artist Kylie Minogue, released on August 3, 1998, by Deconstruction Records. It features remixes of tracks from her sixth studio album, Impossible Princess (1997), created by notable DJs like Brothers in Rhythm, Junior Vasquez, and Todd Terry. The remixes draw from various dance music genres, including electronica and dance-pop. Originally slated for a 1999 release, the album's date was moved up due to the earlier release of the Australian Impossible Remixes. Mixes received positive reviews and peaked at number sixty-three on the UK Albums Chart, making it her highest-charting remix album at that time. A Brothers in Rhythm remix of "Too Far" was released as a promotional single in the UK and North America.

In October 1997, Kylie Minogue released her sixth studio album, Impossible Princess. By January 1998, she began rehearsals for the low-budget Intimate and Live tour, initially planning to perform only in Australia. However, due to high demand in the UK, she added more dates, with tickets selling out quickly. The tour started in early June 1998, and she announced the release of "Cowboy Style" as the fourth single from Impossible Princess, along with plans for two remix albums—one for Australia and one for the UK.

In July 1998, Deconstruction and Mushroom confirmed the two remix albums, Mixes and Impossible Remixes. Initially, Mixes was slated for a triple-vinyl release, but due to fan concerns over high import costs and demand for earlier availability, the label opted for a two-CD set instead. This change allowed Mixes to be released on August 3, 1998, in the UK, while Impossible Remixes came out on July 8, 1998, with some pressings available two months earlier.
