Kansas (album)

"Kansas" is the self-titled debut studio album by American rock band Kansas, released in 1974. The band Kansas was formed in the early 70's in Topeka, Kansas, combining elements of rock, progressive rock, and hard rock. Their debut album, although not immediately commercially successful at its release, laid the groundwork for the band's future success.

The album was produced by Wally Gold and recorded at the Record Plant in New York City. It features material culled from their then-decade-long career and tracks written by various band members. Some of the standout tracks on the album include "Can I Tell You", "Bringing It Back", and "Journey from Mariabronn", these songs became fan favorites and were included in the band's live performances over the years.

"Kansas" is significant as it marked the beginning of a long and prosperous recording career for the band.
