Jim & Ingrid Croce

"Ingrid Croce" is an album released by the American singer-songwriter duo Jim and Ingrid Croce. Published in 1969 under the Capitol Records label, this is their first and only album before Jim began his solo career. The album contains 11 tracks combining an eclectic mix of folk, blues, and rock genres. Its unique fusion style helped in setting a vital groundwork for Jim’s later achievements as a solo artist.

Jim Croce was a renowned folk and rock singer-songwriter in the 1960s and 70s, best known for his casual style and warm storytelling in songs. He met singer-songwriter Ingrid Jacobson during their college years, and they soon started collaborating and performing together. They wed in 1966 and later formed a duo, performing at a variety of venues such as coffee houses, universities, and concert halls before deciding to make their first and only record together, "Ingrid Croce."

Unfortunately, Jim Croce died tragically in a plane crash in 1973, which ended the duo’s collaboration. Post Jim's death, Ingrid Croce has dedicated her life to preserving his legacy, releasing several posthumous albums of his work, and even opening a restaurant dedicated to him. Despite spanning different genres and eras, the intimate bond and creative synergy between Jim and Ingrid Croce is unmistakable in this album.
