Steal Your Face

"Steal Your Face" is a live double album by the Grateful Dead, released in June 1976. It stands as the band's fifth live album and thirteenth overall. Recorded from October 17–20, 1974, at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom, the album captures performances from what was considered a "farewell run" before the band took an indefinite hiatus.

This live recording is notable for its extensive track list, featuring a mix of Grateful Dead classics and extended jams characteristic of their live performances. The album includes renditions of fan favorites like "Bertha," "Wharf Rat," "Eyes of the World," and "Stella Blue," showcasing the band's improvisational prowess and eclectic musical style.

"Steal Your Face" was the fourth and final album released by the Grateful Dead on their original Grateful Dead Records label. It marked a significant period in the band's history, capturing the essence of their live performances during a transitional time.

In addition to "Steal Your Face," the Grateful Dead also released "The Grateful Dead Movie Soundtrack" in 2005, which features recordings from the same series of shows at Winterland Ballroom. Together, these albums provide a comprehensive snapshot of the Grateful Dead's live concert experience during the mid-1970s, showcasing their improvisational spirit and enduring influence on the jam band and rock music scenes.
