Tidal

"Tidal" is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple. It was originally released on July 23, 1996, by Clean Slate and Work Records. The album introduced Apple as a fresh talent and immediately put her on the map.

"Tidal" produced six singles: "Shadowboxer," "Slow Like Honey," "Sleep to Dream," "The First Taste," "Criminal," and "Never Is a Promise." "Criminal," the album's most successful single, won a Grammy Award for "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance" in 1998.

Partially self-produced, the album also included collaborations with producers and engineers such as Andrew Slater and Mark Endert.
