Ultimate Collection

"Ultimate Collection" is the second greatest hits album by British pop duo Eurythmics, released on 7 November 2005 by RCA Records. This compilation was released one week before the reissue of all eight of the duo's back-catalogue albums, which were remastered and featured bonus material. Because of the close timing with these reissues, the album does not include "Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)", a hit from 1984, as it was part of the 1984 (For the Love of Big Brother) soundtrack album, which was released by Virgin Records rather than RCA in the UK. This is the main reason for its omission, as the track was included on the duo's 1991 Greatest Hits compilation.

Unlike the 1991 Greatest Hits, Ultimate Collection features two previously unreleased songs: "I've Got a Life" and "Was It Just Another Love Affair?". Both were recorded during the sessions for their 1999 album Peace. The tracks on Ultimate Collection were all remastered, but notably, the album does not feature any songs from In the Garden (1981) or, in contrast to the earlier compilation, We Too Are One (1989).

One of the new tracks, "I've Got a Life," was released as a single and enjoyed success, entering the UK Singles Chart at number 14. It also spent three weeks at number one on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Ultimate Collection was well-received commercially, peaking at number five on the UK Albums Chart and going on to be certified triple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
