Trust

"Trust" is the fifth album by English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, released in 1981. It received critical acclaim and peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart. Despite its title, the album covers themes of suspicion, betrayal, and cynicism - a stark contrast to the traditional notion of "trust."

The 14-track album includes a diverse collection of songs, encompassing genres from rock and roll, country, and new wave to soul and pop. The album's standout singles include "Clubland," "Watch Your Step," and "New Lace Sleeves."

The production of "Trust" took place during a challenging period in Costello's life. He was grappling with a deteriorating marriage, increasing alcohol consumption, and pressure from his label to deliver a "hit" album.
