Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's

"Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's" is a two-disc retrospective album by American new wave band, The Go-Go's. It was released in October 1994 by I.R.S. Records. The compilation embodies the entirety of the band's career, which is inclusive of their early punk material as well as the pop-oriented music they became renowned for during the 80s.

The album includes a blend of hits, live recordings, early indie label tracks, and new music, effectively capturing the band’s evolution. It features their biggest hits like "Our Lips Are Sealed," "We Got the Beat," and "Vacation," along with three new studio tracks which were "The Whole World Lost Its Head," "Good Girl," and "Beautiful," marking their first new material since 1984's "Talk Show".

Additionally, earlier versions of tracks like "How Much More," "Lust to Love," and "This Town" can also be found on the album. "Return to the Valley of the Go-Go's" effectively summarized the band's musical journey from their inception in 1978 to their hiatus in 1985, and their various reunions afterwards, particularly emphasizing four different incarnations.

This album remains significant as it brought the attention back to the band nearly a decade after their initial breakup, proving their lasting influence and the timeless appeal of their music.
