Afterglow

"Afterglow" is a compilation album by the Australian rock band, Crowded House. It is the eighth album from the band and was released by Capitol Records on 23 May 2000. The album is a collection of rare and unreleased tracks recorded by the band from 1985 to 1995.

The album includes tracks recorded during the band's original incarnation that didn't make it onto their four studio albums, "Crowded House," "Temple of Low Men," "Woodface," and "Together Alone." Some songs were left off because they didn't fit with the rest of the album, while others were recorded specifically for b-sides or for other projects.

The album's title, "Afterglow," refers to the light or radiation that is visible after the main event, or source, has gone. This is fitting as the tracks on this album were all recorded during the band's initial run, before they disbanded in 1996, and were later resurrected and compiled into this album. The release has been praised as showcasing the band's consistently strong songwriting throughout their career, with heartfelt and enduring tracks that stand up alongside their more well-known hits.
