Ring Ring

"Ring Ring" is the debut studio album by the Swedish group ABBA, although at that time they were not yet known by that name and were instead billed as 'Björn Benny & Agnetha Frida'. The album was released in Scandinavia and a limited number of other territories, including Germany, Australia, and Mexico, on 26 March 1973 on the Polar Music label. It was a chart-topping album in Belgium and represented a big leap forward for the group, who until then had been mainly focused on producing singles.

The music on the album delved into the pop and rock genres, with influences from the folk and schlager styles of the time. The members of the group wrote most of the songs, with the help of their manager Stig Anderson who also contributed as a songwriter. The title track 'Ring Ring' became a hit in many parts of Europe and signaled ABBA's potential on the international pop music scene.

The album contains 12 tracks, including some notable tracks like "People Need Love", and "Love Isn't Easy", but it was "Ring Ring" that garnered the most attention and acclaim. The other songs were a mix of ballads, rock-n-roll influenced tracks, and pop numbers. Despite its success, "Ring Ring" remains one of the lesser-known ABBA albums - a precursor to the global fame the group would soon achieve.
