Devils

"Devils" is the fourth and final studio album by the German band Xmal Deutschland. Released in 1989, this album marked a departure from their earlier, more gothic and atmospheric sound. "Devils" showcased a shift towards a more mainstream rock approach, incorporating elements that resonated with a broader audience of the time.

Xmal Deutschland, formed in 1980 in Hamburg, initially gained a following within the post-punk and gothic rock scenes. They were known for their dark, haunting sound and the powerful vocals of lead singer Anja Huwe. Over the years, the band's sound evolved from the ethereal and atmospheric styles characteristic of their early works to a more direct and polished rock sound as heard on "Devils."

While the album did not achieve significant commercial success, it represents an important part of the band's evolution and remains a notable entry in their discography. After the release of "Devils," Xmal Deutschland disbanded, making this album their last studio effort.

The album includes tracks like "Sickness" and "When Devils Come," which highlight the blending of gothic and rock influences, showcasing the band's attempt to explore new musical directions while retaining some of their distinct style.
