Points on the Curve

"Points on the Curve" is the second studio album and the first that was globally released by the English new wave group, Wang Chung. It was released in 1983 and included two of their most popular hits, "Don't Let Go" and "Dance Hall Days".

This was Wang Chung's first album since changing their name from Huang Chung and the lineup only consisted of Jack Hues, Nick Feldman, and Darren Costin. Though the band had previously released a self-titled album, "Points on the Curve" is often considered their debut due to a change in music direction and the aforementioned name change.

Known for its unique sound blending elements of rock, new wave, and synth pop, "Points on the Curve" displays a diverse range of influences and styles. The album is characterized by its highly disciplined, tightly locked synthesizer frameworks, clever hooks, dance beats, and stylishly modern lyrics. The album remains one of the most memorable and distinctive albums from the mid-'80s New Wave period.

Selling more than a million copies worldwide, the album contributed to the band's successful entry into the American market. The specific track, "Dance Hall Days", was a considerable hit in UK, USA, France, New Zealand, Canada and several other countries. The single "Don’t Let Go" was also fairly popular and received a positive response.
