Renegade

"Renegade" is the eleventh studio album by Irish rock band Thin Lizzy, released in 1981. It marked several significant changes for the band. Keyboard player Darren Wharton, though not new to the band, was officially credited as a permanent member for the first time, making him the fifth member of the line-up. Wharton contributed as a songwriter on the album's opening track, "Angel of Death." Despite his official status, Wharton's picture was omitted from the album sleeve.

"Renegade" was also notable as the second and final album to feature guitarist Snowy White. White, known more for his blues style than heavy rock, joined the band briefly and contributed to the album before departing by mutual agreement the following year. His departure allowed him to pursue other musical ventures, including his successful solo career which included the hit single "Bird of Paradise" in 1983.

Overall, "Renegade" showcases Thin Lizzy's evolving lineup and musical direction during a transitional period for the band. Despite these changes, the album received mixed reviews and did not achieve the commercial success of some of their earlier works.
