Live in Japan

"Live in Japan" is a 1977 live album from The Runaways, an all-female rock band from the United States. Released by Mercury Records, the album encompasses a collection of songs performed live during their June 1977 tour in Japan. The band members during this period consisted of Cherie Currie, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Jackie Fox, and Sandy West. Despite the band's lukewarm reception in their home country, they enjoyed significant popularity in Japan which led to a crazed fan reaction, often compared to the Beatlemania of the 1960s.

The album showcases some of the band's biggest hits, including "Cherry Bomb", "Queens of Noise", and "Neon Angels on the Road to Ruin". Apart from these hits, "Live In Japan" also featured new material that wasn’t available on their previous records. This would become the last Runaways record featuring original vocalist Cherie Currie and bassist Jackie Fox.

The Runaways put a lot of their high energy and rebellious spirit into this album, reflecting the raw and electrifying performances that they were known for. While the band would disband a couple of years post the release of this album, their influence continued to inspire future generations of rock musicians, especially female rockers.
