Born Again

"Born Again" is a posthumous compilation album by iconic American rapper The Notorious B.I.G., released by Bad Boy Records and Arista Records on December 7, 1999. Featuring a wide range of guests appearances from prominent artists, this album came about following The Notorious B.I.G.'s murder on March 9, 1997. It is composed of previously unreleased material, as well as remixed and remastered versions of his greatest hits.

The album is a mix of songs, some consisting of verses spliced together from various sessions. Various prominent producers contributed to the album, including Sean 'Puffy' Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, and The Hitmen. It encompasses hardcore street records and bubblegum pop-oriented offerings, demonstrating Biggie's versatility as an artist.

"Born Again" received mixed reviews from music critics but was commercially successful. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with first-week sales of 485,000 copies and was later certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA. The album spawned three singles: "Dead Wrong", "Notorious B.I.G.", and "Born Again".

Even after his untimely death, Biggie's influence and prestige in the hip-hop world remained very much palpable, a fact which this album bore testament to.
