Suicidal Tendencies (album)

"Suicidal Tendencies" is the self-titled debut studio album by the American hardcore punk band, Suicidal Tendencies. The album was released on July 5, 1983, through Frontier Records. It is widely regarded as one of the most successful punk albums of all time.

The band Suicidal Tendencies originally hail from Venice, California and was formed in 1980 by vocalist Mike Muir. This debut album is particularly significant as it is seen as one of the pioneering records for crossover thrash and skate punk. Key tracks like "Institutionalized" and "I Saw Your Mommy..." gained considerable airplay and brought punk into the realm of mainstream music.

In terms of musical style, "Suicidal Tendencies" is characterized by its signature blend of punk rock and hardcore. The lyrics revolve around various themes of disillusionment, societal criticism, and non-conformity, significantly established in hardcore punk culture.
