Music That You Can Dance To

"Music That You Can Dance To" is the fourteenth studio album by American pop band Sparks, released in September 1986. The album was issued by MCA Records in the US and Consolidated Allied Records in the UK. This release followed their previous album, Pulling Rabbits Out of a Hat, which came out in 1984.

Music That You Can Dance To was released in September 1986 and, like its predecessor Pulling Rabbits Out of a Hat 1984, did not achieve significant success on the album charts. The album was distributed across various labels: Consolidated Allied Records in the UK, Curb Records in Germany, and MCA Records in the US, where Curb was the distributor at the time.

In the US and Canada, the album replaced the 1985 single Change with Armies of the Night. To promote the album, Sparks released three singles: Music That You Can Dance To, Rosebud, and Fingertips, each of which was also available in extended remix versions. Notably, the UK and US remixes of Music That You Can Dance To differed. Fingertips was released as a club promo in the US, paired with The Scene. Although these singles did not make a significant impact on the mainstream charts, they performed well on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart, with Music That You Can Dance To reaching No. 6 Sparks' highest peak on the club chart—and the Double A-side Fingertips/The Scene reaching No. 38.

The single Change, released in the UK on London Records in 1985, reached No. 85 on the UK Singles Chart and was promoted with an appearance on the British television talk show Wogan. However, none of the other singles from Music That You Can Dance To achieved notable popularity in the UK.
