Stranded (album)

"Stranded" is the third album by the English rock band Roxy Music, originally released in 1973 by Island Records (and by Atco Records in the United States). This album marked a significant evolution for Roxy Music, as it was the first where Bryan Ferry was not the sole songwriter. Multi-instrumentalist Andy Mackay and guitarist Phil Manzanera contributed to the songwriting, broadening the band's creative scope.

The lineup changes on "Stranded" were notable, with keyboardist/violinist Eddie Jobson and bassist John Gustafson joining the band. They replaced Brian Eno and John Porter, respectively, who had departed after the previous album "For Your Pleasure".

"Stranded" achieved critical and commercial success, reaching number one on the UK albums chart. The single "Street Life" from the album also performed well, reaching number 9 on the UK singles chart. In the United States, "Stranded" charted at number 186, solidifying Roxy Music's presence in the international music scene.
