Seconds of Pleasure

"Seconds of Pleasure" is a 1980 album by Rockpile, a band composed of guitarists/vocalists Dave Edmunds and Billy Bremner, bassist/vocalist Nick Lowe, and drummer Terry Williams. While the members had collaborated on various solo projects before, this album marked their sole release under the Rockpile name.

The album opens with "Teacher, Teacher," a track that achieved moderate success on the Billboard Hot 100. Written by Kenny Pickett and Eddie Phillips, both former members of The Creation, this song also featured prominently in the opening credits of the 2011 film "Bad Teacher."

Another notable track on the album is "(Wrong Again) Let’s Face It," a cover of a Squeeze song that was originally released as a flexi-disc with the October 4, 1979 edition of Smash Hits magazine.

Initially, the LP release of "Seconds of Pleasure" included a bonus four-song EP titled "Nick Lowe & Dave Edmunds Sing the Everly Brothers." These tracks were later integrated into various CD reissues of the album.

The front cover of the album features a painting by the designer Barney Bubbles, known for his distinctive style and use of pseudonyms. This particular artwork is signed "Dag," one of Bubbles' pseudonyms.
