Fixed (EP)

"Fixed" is an extended play (EP) album by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. It was released on December 7, 1992, by Nothing, TVT, and Interscope Records. It serves as a companion release to "Broken," the band's 1992 EP, featuring remixes by Coil, Danny Hyde, JG Thirlwell, and Butch Vig, among others.

"Fixed" is the first remix album from Nine Inch Nails and it continues the aggressive and intense sound established on "Broken," but with a twist. After the release of "Broken," band frontman Trent Reznor and English musician Peter Christopherson started working on the remix album. Christopherson and his band Coil's contribution to remixing helped create a deranged and oftentimes haunting soundscape.

The album is sometimes seen as a transition between the band's debut album "Pretty Hate Machine" and its consequent album "The Downward Spiral." "Fixed" includes remixes of all the songs from "Broken," only excluding two instrumentals. Unlike conventional remixes, the songs on "Fixed" often sound nothing like the originals, as the samples are mangled and disguised in creative ways, and tracks often feature new guitar or keyboard parts.

Though it received mixed reviews on its release, "Fixed" found relative commercial success, peaking at number 31 in the UK Albums Chart. Over the years, it has been reassessed by several critics and fans, who now view it as an essential part of the Nine Inch Nails discography.
