As You Like It

"As You Like It" is an album by the British glam rock band Mud. Released in 1979, it marked one of their later ventures as the band sought to evolve their sound beyond the glam rock style that had brought them significant success in the 1970s. Mud gained popularity with hits like "Tiger Feet" and "Lonely This Christmas" and became known for their catchy, upbeat tracks and distinctive style.

By the time "As You Like It" was released, Mud's lineup had experienced some changes, and the music landscape was shifting. The album reflected these changes, featuring a mix of rock, pop, and more contemporary sounds as the band aimed to adapt to the evolving music scene. This was a departure from their earlier, purely glam-centric hits.

While not as commercially successful as their prior works, "As You Like It" demonstrated the band's willingness to experiment and try new musical directions. The album showcases a blend of different musical influences and stands as a testament to Mud's adaptability and desire to remain relevant in a competitive music industry. Despite the challenges faced in reaching the heights of their previous success, Mud’s "As You Like It" is a noteworthy entry in their discography as it represents their evolution as artists.
