Kill Uncle

"Kill Uncle" is the second solo studio album by English singer Morrissey, released on 4 March 1991 by record labels EMI and HMV. Following the release of his debut album "Viva Hate" in 1988, Morrissey had some difficulty establishing a dependable, cooperative team to work with, leading to the extended time between his first two albums.

"Kill Uncle" features a generally softer tone than the previous album, reflecting more on nostalgia and regret. The album was not a huge commercial success; however, it reached No. 8 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 51 on the US Billboard 200.

The ten-track album was produced by Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley who have worked with numerous other successful artists. "Kill Uncle" includes popular singles "Our Frank" and "Sing Your Life", the latter being noteworthy as it encourages listeners to make their own music.

Despite its relative lack of success, the experimental and unique nature of "Kill Uncle", which does diverge from typical Morrissey and Smiths sound, has turned the album into somewhat of a cult classic among fans and holds a special place within Morrissey’s repertoire. Morrissey himself reissued a remastered version of the album in 2013, which testifies to its enduring relevance.
