No Guts...No Glory

"No Guts...No Glory" is the fifth studio album by American southern rock band Molly Hatchet, released in 1983. This album is notable since it was the band's comeback album. Prior to this, the group's future was in question following the departure of founder and lead vocalist, Danny Joe Brown, due to health problems during the recording of the album "Take No Prisoners" (1981). In "No Guts...No Glory", Jimmy Farrar (who had replaced Danny Joe Brown) was replaced by the returning Danny Joe Brown.

The album thus showcased a new musical direction for Molly Hatchet and is characterized by a distinctively melodic, almost commercial quality, which would continue with the following record, but nonetheless, it retains the band's reliance on guitar-driven boogie rock.

The album includes tracks like "What's It Gonna Take", and features a remake of the classic Free song, "Wishing Well". More so, the album features the original cover art by fantasy artist Boris Vallejo.

Notably, "No Guts...No Glory" became the band's fourth album to make the Billboard Top 100, reaching No. 59, and remained on the charts for 16 weeks. However, while fans and critics appreciated Brown's return and the band's raw energy, the album didn't garner the same commercial success as their peak years in the late '70s.
