Hands All Over

"Hands All Over" is the third studio album by American pop rock band Maroon 5, released on September 15, 2010, by A&M Octone Records. The album, produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, features guest appearances from American country band Lady Antebellum and singer Christina Aguilera. It debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200.

The standard edition of the album includes the singles "Misery," "Give a Little More," and "Never Gonna Leave This Bed." On July 12, 2011, the band re-released the album to include the hit single "Moves Like Jagger," which became a significant success and further boosted the album's popularity.

Maroon 5 began working on their third studio album, Hands All Over, after completing a world tour for their second album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. The band was approached by Robert John "Mutt" Lange, who expressed interest in producing their new album. Described by the band as a "killer hybrid of rock, pop, funk, and R&B," the album was recorded in Lange's studio in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. The recording process was intensive, with Lange pushing the band to refine their songs significantly.

Lead singer Adam Levine noted that Lange's approach was rigorous but rewarding, describing him as a "serious writer" who demanded high standards. Levine also mentioned that while previous albums were influenced by artists like Stevie Wonder, Prince, and The Police, this album focused on crafting great pop music. Levine also cited Tupac Shakur and Marvin Gaye as influences.

The album cover, shot by 19-year-old photographer Rosie Hardy in her bedroom, was revealed on July 1, 2010. Hardy also appears as the model in the photograph.

To promote the album, Maroon 5 released a web series titled Palm Trees & Power Lines, which documented their 2010 promotional tour and the recording process. The series was released in three parts, with the first part airing on August 23, and the remaining parts on October 11 and December 3, 2010.
