Cal (soundtrack)

"Cal" is the second soundtrack album by British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released on August 24, 1984, by Vertigo Records. The album features music composed by Knopfler for the 1984 film Cal, which was produced by David Puttnam and directed by Pat O'Connor. Puttnam, who also produced Local Hero (1983), brought Knopfler back to compose the score for this film.

The soundtrack includes Knopfler's signature guitar work and storytelling style, providing a rich, atmospheric backdrop to the film. Notably, Knopfler performed the track "Father And Son" as an instrumental intro during his 2013 tour, leading into the song "Hill Farmer's Blues."
