Billy Super Duper

"Billy Super Duper" is an album by Marc Bolan & T. Rex released posthumously in 1982 by the Marc On Wax label. It is the last album of new material to be issued under the T. Rex name. The songs were all recorded by Bolan in 1972 and 1973, and were later remixed and augmented in 1982 by Bolan's longtime engineer and producer, John Marter.

The album got its title from a phrase Bolan often used to describe something he regarded as exceptional. Notably, none of the nine tracks were performed live by the band or featured on television. The album became a collectors' item due to the rarity of original material. Unfortunately, it did not reach a larger audience, missing out on mainstream chart recognition.

"Billy Super Duper" is often dismissed by some fans as a posthumous cash-in due to the alterations made to the original recordings, nevertheless, the songs capture the spirit of Bolan's creativity and playfulness. Highlights of the album include tracks like 'Ride My Wheels,' 'Mad Donna' and the title track 'Billy Super Duper,' which carry the unmistakable T. Rex sound of electric boogie and lyrical whimsy.
