"Postcards from a Young Man" is the tenth studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers, released on 20 September 2010 by Columbia Records. The band characterized the album as "one last shot at mass communication," aiming to create a more accessible sound while retaining their signature style.

The album enjoyed commercial and critical success, reaching number 3 on the UK charts. It was supported by the Manics' most extensive UK tour to date, further solidifying their presence in the rock scene. Postcards from a Young Man was recorded between October 2009 and June 2010 at Faster Studio in Cardiff, with a provisional title of It's Not War – Just the End of Love. The band aimed for "big radio hits" and sought to make their music more accessible, with Nicky Wire expressing a desire for their songs to be heard widely.

Wire described the sound as "heavy metal Tamla Motown," humorously juxtaposing genres. Despite these bold claims, biographer Simon Price noted that the end product often retained a quintessentially Manics feel, regardless of stylistic aspirations. The album features guest appearances, including Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses on "A Billion Balconies Facing the Sun," and incorporates a gospel choir on several tracks.

The lead single, "(It's Not War) Just the End of Love," reflects the band's enduring energy and anger, even as they navigate their forties. Produced by longtime collaborator Dave Eringa and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, the album's cover features a striking black-and-white photograph of actor Tim Roth.

Musically, Postcards from a Young Man delves into Seventies-style AOR and power-pop, marking a departure into a more pop-oriented sound while maintaining the band’s core identity. The album's success and extensive tour reinforced their relevance in the contemporary music landscape.
