One More from the Road

"One More from the Road" is a live album by Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, capturing performances from three shows recorded in July 1976 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Released in September 1976, it is the band's first live album and remains the only live recording from their classic era (1970-1977) before the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backing singer Cassie Gaines. The album was certified gold on October 26, 1976, platinum on December 30, 1976, and 3× platinum on July 21, 1987.

The original 14-track album includes notable performances such as a cover of Jimmie Rodgers' "T for Texas" and an extended 11:30 version of "Free Bird." The first CD release in 1986 was a single disc that omitted "T For Texas" and "Travelin' Man" due to time constraints. The 1996 reissue expanded to a two-disc set, restoring all 14 tracks and adding three bonus tracks: "Sweet Home Alabama," "Gimme Back My Bullets," and "Simple Man," with the tracks arranged in their original concert order.

The 2001 deluxe edition featured a complete remix and remaster, including additional performances from the Fox Theatre. This edition presented an undubbed version of "Free Bird" for the first time, with the overdubbed version included as a bonus track. The bonus tracks were also available separately on a "Rarities Edition."

Additionally, the live version of "Sweet Home Alabama" from this album was featured in the music rhythm video games Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades.
