Snapshots

"Snapshots" is the twelfth studio album and first covers album by British singer Kim Wilde, released on 26 August 2011 in Germany by Columbia SevenOne. The album features Wilde's renditions of selected songs from the past five decades. It was later released in other European countries, including the United Kingdom, on 28 November 2011.

Snapshots by Kim Wilde was preceded by a double release of the lead single, featuring "It's Alright" and "Sleeping Satellite," originally recorded by East 17 and Tasmin Archer, respectively. These singles were released on 19 August 2011, accompanied by music videos for both tracks. The album also includes a duet with her husband Hal Fowler on the final track, "Kooks," originally by David Bowie.

The digital download version of the album on iTunes features the bonus track "I'll Stand by You," originally by The Pretenders, along with the music videos for "It's Alright" and "Sleeping Satellite." A track-by-track interview was offered as a bonus for those who pre-ordered the album on iTunes. An exclusive edition sold at Saturn stores includes the bonus track "Forever Young," originally by Alphaville and first covered by Laura Branigan.

The second single from the album, "To France," originally by Mike Oldfield featuring Maggie Reilly, was released digitally on 2 December 2011, including a new Christmas remix and a remix of "It's Alright." The third single, "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)," originally by the Buzzcocks, was released on 24 February 2012 under the title "Ever Fallen in Love" to promote Wilde's European tour. This single was also digital-only and featured a previously unreleased cover of "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum.
