Fallen (Fields of the Nephilim album)

"Fallen" is the sixth studio album by English gothic rock band Fields of the Nephilim. It was released in the United Kingdom on 5 June 2002 by Jungle Records and was the band's first full-length album of new material in five years.

Though there is some debate about the album's authenticity, the band members involved have confirmed its legitimacy. The album was not officially promoted and did not chart, but the band's fanbase received it positively.

Fields of the Nephilim had originally split up in 1991, following the release of their previous studio album, "Elizium". Post-split, band members took part in various other projects, including Nefilim and Rubicon. In 2000, lead vocalist Carl McCoy reassembled a new lineup for Fields of the Nephilim and they began performing live again.

"Fallen" includes songs written during the period of 1997 to 2001, a time when the band was slowly reforming after the break. The album marks an evolution in the band's sound, blending their traditional gothic rock with a more modern, metallic edge.

Despite facing criticism for its lo-fi production quality, the album has also been praised for its experimental take on Goth rock and is now recognized as an important addition to the band's discography.
