Gag

"Gag" is the forth and final studio album by British musician, Fad Gadget, whose real name is Frank Tovey. The album was first released in October 1984 under the Mute Records label. This album is an electronic music piece that exemplifies the genre's distinctive sound in the 1980s. The album title's connotations of restriction and suffocation reflect the critical and introspective nature of the songs therein.

"Gag" incorporates a diverse array of sound effects, synths, and biting socio-political commentary. It includes notable tracks such as "Ideal World", "Collapsing New People", and "Sleep". One of the most renowned tracks, "Collapsing New People," features German band Einstürzende Neubauten, enhancing the overall industrial charm of the record.

Despite being his final studio album as Fad Gadget, Tovey went on to create music under his real name until his death in 2002.
