Showdown (Electric Light Orchestra album)

"Showdown" is a compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) released in 1974 in the United Kingdom. This album should not be confused with the 1973 single of the same name.

While it was titled "Showdown," in the U.S., it was not exactly the same album. The U.S. version was re-titled "ELO's Greatest Hits Vol. II," with an entirely different cover photo, and track order. The U.S. version also included two more songs: "Sweet Talkin' Woman" and "Turn To Stone."

"Showdown" is essentially a collection of their earlier works, taking tracks from the band's first three albums. It includes very popular songs such as "Roll Over Beethoven," "Evil Woman," and "Can't Get It Out Of My Head." Although a compilation, it includes one non-album track, the aforementioned "Showdown," which was a UK Top 15 hit. This makes the album a must for any fans who want a collection of ELO's early work.
