Future Past

"Future Past" is the fifteenth studio album by the English pop rock band Duran Duran, released on October 22, 2021. It marks the band's first album with BMG and their first since 2015's Paper Gods. Co-produced by the band along with Mark Ronson, Giorgio Moroder, and Erol Alkan, the album features guest appearances by Tove Lo, Ivorian Doll, Japanese band Chai, and Mike Garson, with Blur's Graham Coxon contributing guitar work.

The first single, "Invisible," was released on May 19, 2021, followed by tracks like "More Joy!" featuring Chai, "Anniversary," "Tonight United," and "Give It All Up" featuring Tove Lo before the album's official release. John Taylor described Future Past as a "very emotionally deep album," noting that many lyrics were written before the COVID-19 lockdowns and reflect themes of emotional crises and intimacy issues. Simon Le Bon mentioned that the album's development began in November 2018 during a live performance at the BBC Radio Theatre, crediting Graham Coxon with significantly influencing the album's direction and elevating the band's musicality.

The cover art features a colorized combination of two black-and-white photographs by Japanese photographer Daisuke Yokota, created by art director Rory McCartney, resulting in a striking silhouette effect that resonates with the album's themes.
