Analord

The "Analord" series is a significant body of work by Richard D. James, also known as Aphex Twin, released in 2005 under the alias AFX. This series marked a return for James to primarily using analogue equipment, departing from the more computer-oriented approach he had pursued in the late 1990s.

Consisting of eleven 12" vinyl records, the "Analord" series is characterized by its exploration of analogue synthesizers and drum machines, showcasing James's intricate and detailed approach to electronic music production. The series comprises a total of 42 tracks, amounting to approximately 3½ hours of music.

Following the initial vinyl releases, James compiled a selection of tracks into a more accessible format with the release of "Chosen Lords" in 2006. This compilation album featured 10 tracks distilled from the "Analord" series, serving as James's first full-length release since his 2001 album "Drukqs."

In addition to the original series and the "Chosen Lords" compilation, fans were treated to further material when Rephlex Records began releasing unreleased and bonus tracks from the "Analord" sessions on their website starting from December 24, 2009. These bonus tracks were made available in digital formats (MP3 and WAV), adding 21 additional tracks to the series and extending the total runtime to 4 hours and 36 minutes across 62 tracks.
