Draw the Line

"Draw the Line" is the fifth studio album by American rock band Aerosmith, released in December 1977. Aerosmith produced the album with Jack Douglas, who has been working with the band so far and had developed a significant role in their creative team. The album showed darker sides in the band's personas, due to the environment of trials the band was undergoing throughout this period in terms of their relationships and drug usage.

However, the album was commercially successful and managed to reach the platinum status, yet it is often regarded as one of Aerosmith's most chaotic efforts resulted from their excessive lifestyle and pressure to continuously top their preceding success. The album showcases a raw and direct sound with hard-rocking tracks, notably "Draw the Line" and "Kings and Queens."

Despite the criticism, "Draw the Line" embodies Aerosmith's signature rock 'n' roll swagger, and it was given a warm welcome by the band's loyal followers. Following the release, Aerosmith embarked on a much-rewarded tour which included quite a number of concerts performed in significant venues all over the world. The album's title track "Draw the Line" was listed as the 42nd 'Best Hard Rock Song of All Time' by VH1.
