Love

"Four Sail" is the fourth album by the American rock band, Love. The album was released in August 1969 on the Elektra Records label. Known for their fusion of different musical styles including folk rock and psychedelic rock, Love is led by frontman Arthur Lee. The album was created in the midst of significant changes within the band's lineup. Prior to "Four Sail," three members of Love had departed, leaving Arthur Lee to assemble a new group of musicians. Despite the resultant turmoil and the rush production, the album has gained a certain appreciation over the years. "Four Sail" is more rugged and bluesy compared to the band's early works. The album has ten tracks which later got expanded when a version with additional tracks was released. The song "Always See Your Face" is a notable track from the album and has appeared in several movie soundtracks. While "Four Sail" did not share the same commercial success as Love's previous albums, it's considered a defining album of the psychedelic era and recognized for its innovative and eclectic musical style. The soft, acoustic tones mixed with the hard, garage rock sound showcases the band's musical diversity making it a standout album in their impressive catalog.
