Classix Nouveaux

"Battle Cry" is the long-awaited comeback album by the British new wave band Classix Nouveaux, released 40 years after their last album, Secret (1983). The album features nine tracks, including seven brand-new compositions and re-imagined versions of the band's classic songs “Never Never Comes” and “Interlude/Inside Outside” for the modern era. The album showcases a shift toward a more guitar-driven rock sound, while retaining elements of the band's signature style, including a couple of instrumental tracks, reminiscent of their early albums. The project was born from the dedication of the band's fans, who had kept the Classix Nouveaux spirit alive over the years, especially through social media platforms like Facebook. Lead singer Sal Solo explained that the idea to reunite and record new music came about when the band realized the passion and interest of their fanbase. What began as a simple remake of their classic song "Inside Outside" quickly gained momentum, leading to the creation of entirely new material, much to the surprise and excitement of their fans. Battle Cry marks a significant return for Classix Nouveaux, blending nostalgia with contemporary sounds, and offering a heartfelt "birthday present" to their loyal followers.
