"Delayed Reaction" is the tenth studio album by American alternative rock band Soul Asylum. It was released on July 17, 2012, marking the band's first studio album since 2006's "The Silver Lining". The album constitutes a big shift for the group as it's their first release through independent label 429 Records.
The creation of "Delayed Reaction" took several years, with sessions scattered over time instead of a focused period. Soul Asylum primarily consists of original members Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy, alongside bassist Tommy Stinson and drummer Michael Bland.
On this album, the band offers a spontaneous feel that contrasts their earlier works, gifting fans with a raw and spry mix of rock, punk, folk, and country. Notable tracks on the album include "Gravity", "Into The Light", and "The Streets".
"Delayed Reaction" received generally favourable reviews from critics and was perceived as a welcome return for the quartet, creating satisfying and deeply emotional rock and roll whilst maintaining the charisma that initially propelled Soul Asylum to popularity.
