The Slits

"Trapped Animal" is the third and final studio album by the English punk band the Slits. Released on October 6, 2009, it marked their first full-length album since reuniting in 2006, following the release of the EP "Revenge of the Killer Slits." Founding vocalist Ari Up and bassist Tessa Pollitt returned for this album, while the rest of the band featured new members: Hollie Cook on backing vocals, Adele Wilson on guitar, Little Anna (Anna Ozawa) on keyboards and melodica (including her original song "Be It"), and Anna Schulte on drums. Upon its release, "Trapped Animal" received mixed to negative reviews from critics. Despite this, the Slits embarked on a tour to promote the album. Tragically, Ari Up passed away in 2010 after battling breast cancer for two years. Her death led to the permanent disbandment of the band, making "Trapped Animal" their final album.
