The Hollies

"For Certain Because" was released in 1966, and it's a significant album in The Hollies' discography as it is the first one that features entirely original material. Notably, all the band members contributed to the writing on the album, marking a shift from their previous reliance on cover songs. Regarded for their tight vocal harmonies, The Hollies composed most songs through 'Nash, Hicks, & Clarke', a songwriting partnership, resulting in a vibrant mix of pop and rock sounds. The album, also known by the title "Stop! Stop! Stop!" in the U.S. due to the success of the titular single, carries 12 tracks with several charting hits. In addition to "Stop! Stop! Stop!", notable songs include "Pay You Back with Interest" and "Tell Me to My Face". The album demonstrated the group's versatility, blending various influences and showcasing their musical evolution. Despite the departure of original band member Eric Haydock during the recording, the album proved a commercial success and holds a crucial place in The Hollies' career.
